How does Handytool remove the background?

It loads a small AI segmentation model into your browser, identifies the foreground subject, and writes a new PNG with the background pixels made transparent. All of this happens on your device — nothing is sent to a server.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. The model and your image are processed entirely in the browser. We never see, store, or log the files you drop in.

Why is the first run slower than the second?

The first time you use the tool the AI model (~30 MB) is downloaded and cached. After that, every subsequent image starts instantly because the model is already on your device.

What kinds of images work best?

Photos with a clear subject — people, products, animals, isolated objects — give the cleanest cut-outs. Very busy backgrounds or subjects that blend into the background can be harder to separate cleanly.

Can I use the result commercially?

Yes. The output PNG is yours to use however you like. Handytool keeps no copy of the input or the result.
