How does this AI essay checker work?

Your essay is sent to a large language model trained to evaluate writing. It returns scores across grammar, clarity, structure, argument and style, a summary, concrete strengths and improvements, and specific in-text issues with suggested rewrites. Handytool doesn't log or store the text.

Is the essay checker free?

Yes. No sign-up, no trial limit, no watermark. Each check caps at 20,000 characters so the tool stays fast and free for everyone.

What length of essay does it handle?

Anything from a 200-character paragraph up to a 20,000-character essay — roughly 3,500 words, enough for most college essays, personal statements, blog posts and article drafts. For longer pieces, check them one section at a time.

Does it work for languages other than English?

Yes. The underlying language model evaluates most widely written languages — Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and more — and writes the feedback in the same language as your essay.

Will it change the meaning of my writing?

No. The checker only flags issues and suggests rewrites — nothing is applied automatically. You decide which suggestions to accept, reject or ignore, and your original text is never modified without a click.

Is my essay private?

Unlike Handytool's browser-only tools, the essay checker sends your text to a cloud language model to generate the report. Handytool itself does not log, store or share the text, but the model provider processes it to produce the response. Don't paste confidential or regulated drafts.
