About the Video Speed Changer

Speed up or slow down any video from 0.25x to 4x with a slider and quick presets. Make a slow-motion clip, fast-forward a tutorial, or hit a clean 2x — the audio can keep its natural pitch, or you can mute it entirely. Handytool re-encodes the video in your browser with a WebAssembly build of FFmpeg, so nothing is uploaded and there's no watermark on the result.

Video Speed Changer features

  • 01

    0.25x to 4x with presets

Drag the speed slider or tap a preset (0.5x, 1.5x, 2x, and more). Video and audio stay in sync at any speed, and the tool shows the new duration before you export.

  • 02

    Keep pitch or mute

Keep-pitch mode preserves natural-sounding voices when you change speed using tempo adjustment. Prefer no sound? Toggle mute to drop the audio track entirely.

  • 03

    Browser-only, no watermark

The re-encode runs on your device with FFmpeg WebAssembly, so your footage stays private and the output is clean, with no logo stamped on it.

Video Speed Changer FAQ

How do I speed up a video?
Upload your clip, drag the speed slider above 1x or tap a preset like 2x, then click Change speed. Download the faster video when it's ready.
Can I make a slow-motion video?
Yes. Set the speed below 1x — for example 0.5x or 0.25x — to slow the footage down. The audio is slowed to match, or you can mute it.
Will the audio sound like a chipmunk when sped up?
Not with keep-pitch enabled — it adjusts tempo while preserving the original pitch. Turn keep-pitch off if you actually want the classic pitched-up effect.
Which video formats are supported?
MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, and M4V. The output is a standard MP4 that plays everywhere.
Is my video uploaded?
No. The speed change is processed entirely in your browser, so your video never leaves your device.
