WebP to JPG
Convert WebP images to JPG in your browser — files never leave your device.
Lower values = smaller file, more compression. 85 is a good default.
About the WebP to JPG
WebP is Google's modern image format used across the web, but plenty of older editors, email clients, and desktop apps still choke on it. Handytool converts WebP to JPG entirely in your browser, so you get a universally compatible JPEG in seconds. Both WebP and JPG are lossy formats, so the tool re-encodes at your chosen quality without ever uploading a file to a server.
WebP to JPG features
- 01
Universal compatibility
JPG opens on every device, editor, and website with no plugins. Converting WebP to JPG fixes the 'unsupported format' errors you hit when sharing WebP saved from a browser.
- 02
Adjustable JPG quality
A quality slider lets you trade file size against fidelity. Since WebP is already lossy, keeping quality at 90+ avoids stacking a second round of visible compression artifacts.
- 03
100% private, no upload
Conversion runs locally in your browser with JavaScript. Your images never touch a server, so this is safe for private screenshots and downloaded photos.
WebP to JPG FAQ
- How do I convert WebP to JPG?
- Drop your .webp files onto the upload area (or click Choose files), adjust the quality slider if you like, then click Convert. Download each JPG individually or use Download all.
- Why won't my WebP file open in Photoshop or Windows Photo Viewer?
- Older versions of Photoshop and some Windows apps don't read WebP natively. Converting to JPG is the quickest way to make the image editable and viewable everywhere without installing a codec.
- Will I lose quality converting WebP to JPG?
- Both formats are lossy, so the conversion re-encodes the image. At a quality setting of 90 or higher the difference is imperceptible for photos. If you need transparency preserved instead, use WebP to PNG.
- What happens to the transparency in my WebP?
- JPG does not support transparency, so any transparent areas are filled with a solid background. If your WebP has an alpha channel you want to keep, convert to PNG rather than JPG.
- Can I convert several WebP images at once?
- Yes. Drop as many .webp files as you like and they are all converted in parallel, then offered as individual JPG downloads.
