Trim Video FAQ

How do I trim a video online?
Drop your video file into the tool, set the start and end times using the sliders, then click Trim. Once processing finishes, preview the result and click Download to save it.
What video formats are supported?
The trimmer accepts MP4, MOV, and WebM files up to 1 GB. The output format matches the input — trimming an MP4 produces an MP4.
Is the video uploaded to a server?
No. Trimming is done entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Your video file never leaves your device, so there are no privacy concerns.
Why is the cut slightly off from where I set it?
The tool uses stream-copy mode (no re-encode) for speed, so cuts snap to the nearest keyframe in the video. For most content this is within 1–2 seconds of the selected time. For frame-exact cuts, a desktop editor like DaVinci Resolve or iMovie gives more precision.
How large a file can I trim?
The maximum supported file size is 1 GB. For files larger than 1 GB, consider splitting them with a desktop tool first.
