HEIC to JPG
Convert HEIC photos from iPhone to JPG in your browser — files never leave your device.
Lower values = smaller file, more compression. 85 is a good default.
About the HEIC to JPG
HEIC is Apple's default photo format on iPhone and iPad since iOS 11, but most apps, websites, and Windows PCs expect JPG. Handytool's HEIC to JPG converter runs entirely in your browser — drop your .heic files and download ready-to-share JPGs in seconds. Nothing is uploaded to a server: your photos never leave your device.
HEIC to JPG features
- 01
Works with iPhone & iPad photos
Both .heic and .heif files from any iPhone, iPad, or Apple device are fully supported. No plugins, no app installs — just drop the files.
- 02
Adjustable JPG quality
Use the quality slider to balance file size and visual fidelity. A setting of 85–90 gives near-original quality at 60–80% smaller file size than a lossless alternative.

100% private, no upload
Conversion runs locally in your browser using JavaScript. Your photos never touch a server, making this safe for personal, medical, or sensitive images.
HEIC to JPG FAQ
- How do I convert HEIC to JPG?
- Drop your HEIC or HEIF files onto the upload area (or click Choose files), adjust the quality slider if needed, then click Convert. Download individual files or use Download all to save everything at once.
- Why is my iPhone saving photos as HEIC instead of JPG?
- Apple switched to HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) as the default format with iOS 11 because HEIC files are typically half the size of equivalent JPGs with comparable quality. You can switch your iPhone to save as JPG in Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible, but converting existing HEIC files to JPG is the faster solution.
- Will quality be lost converting HEIC to JPG?
- JPG is a lossy format, so some quality is traded for file size. At a quality setting of 85 or above, the difference is rarely visible to the naked eye. For lossless output, use the HEIC to PNG tool instead.
- Can I open HEIC files on Windows?
- Windows 10 and 11 can open HEIC files only with the paid HEIC Image Extensions codec from the Microsoft Store. Converting to JPG is the simplest way to make your photos universally viewable without any extra software.
- Can I convert multiple HEIC files at once?
- Yes. Select or drop as many HEIC files as you like — they are all converted in parallel and appear as individual JPG files ready to download.
- Are my photos uploaded to a server?
- No. The converter runs entirely inside your browser. Your photos never leave your device and nothing is stored or logged.
