How do I calculate a percentage discount?
Multiply the original price by the discount percent divided by 100 to get the savings, then subtract it from the price. For example, 25% off $120 saves $30, giving a $90 final price.
How do stacked discounts work?
Stacked discounts apply one after another, not by simply adding the percentages. 20% off then an extra 10% off is a 28% effective discount, because the second cut is taken from the already-reduced price.
How do I find the original price from a sale price?
Divide the sale price by (1 − discount ÷ 100). If an item is $90 after 25% off, the original was $90 ÷ 0.75 = $120. Reverse mode does this automatically.
What is the effective discount on stacked deals?
It's the total percentage saved compared with the original price after all discounts are applied. The calculator shows it so you can compare a stacked deal against a single larger discount.
